Senate Approves Leader Grove's Resolution to Honor Gold Star Mothers and Families

SACRAMENTO – Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield) recently introduced Senate Concurrent Resolution 54 (SCR) to highlight the valiant efforts of Gold Star Families who lost an active duty member of the military. SCR 54 passed out of the Senate on a unanimous vote and recognizes September 29, 2019 as Gold Star Mothers and Families Day. The bill now heads to the California State Assembly.

“As the first female veteran to serve in the California State Legislature, I was honored to recognize the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice to our nation. It is important to acknowledge the families who lost loved ones while they defended our freedoms. America’s Gold Star mothers, fathers, and family members have also sacrificed for our country. The families of these fallen heroes deserve to be recognized,” said Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove.
