Senate Republican Leader Grove Says California’s Motor Voter Law Needs an Overhaul

Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield) issued the following statement after an audit conducted by Ernst & Young of California’s Department of Motor Vehicles unveiled more than 80,000 duplicate voter records.

"This is another black mark for the DMV. The mismanagement and incompetence is unbelievable as we are learning today about tens of thousands of additional duplicate voter records. Legislative Democrats refuse to acknowledge the failure of the state’s Motor Voter program. This is just further proof that there needs to be a fair and independent audit of the DMV followed by a complete overhaul, and the immediate suspension of the failed Motor Voter Law,” said Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove.
