Senator Grove is Appointed to Key Committees

SACRAMENTO – Senator Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield) has been named to serve on six Senate committees.

As the first woman veteran elected to the California Legislature, Senator Grove is honored to serve as the Vice Chair for the Committee on Veterans Affairs. Senator Grove is also the Vice Chair for the Committee on Transportation.

“Californians suffer from sky rocketing housing, gas, and insurance costs. However, the needs of rural residents differ from the rest of the state,” said Senator Grove. “Serving on these committees will allow me to be a voice for my constituency. It is time that hard-working citizens can finally afford to live and work in the Golden State.”

Senator Grove will serve on the following standing committees during the 2019-2020 Legislative Session:

  • Health
  • Housing
  • Insurance
  • Rules
  • Transportation (Vice Chair)
  • Veterans Affairs (Vice Chair)

Senator Shannon Grove represents California’s 16th Senate District which encompasses large portions of Kern, Tulare, and San Bernardino Counties including Bakersfield, Barstow, California City, Exeter, Frazier Mountain, Joshua Tree, Mojave, Needles, Ridgecrest, Rosamond, Taft, Tehachapi, Twentynine Palms, Tulare, Visalia, Yucca Valley and portions of Kern River Valley.
