Senator Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield) responds to Governor Newsom signing AB 112, the Distressed Hospital Loan Program:
“I want to thank the Governor for responding to my request to provide immediate relief for our local hospitals. While this funding will give much-needed help to Kaweah Delta Health and Ridgecrest Community Hospital, there are other hospitals at risk of closing their doors that desperately need assistance.
"Our hospitals are indispensable and provide access to care and life-saving treatment to our community. Our hospitals desperately need longer term solutions such as increased Medi-Cal reimbursement rates and flexibility with seismic retrofit compliance. I am grateful for this down payment, but will continue to fight for broader reforms."
