State Approves almost $1 Million for Burroughs High School

Yesterday, the State Allocation Board approved $988,025 as a reimbursement for a facility hardship project at Sherman E. Burroughs High School to solve a plumbing issue that arose. Burroughs High School serves the Naval Air Weapons Station at China Lake.

“This is great news for our community and I am glad that the board has approved this necessary funding,” said Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield).

The District provided the local contribution and received additional Department of Defense (DOD) funding for the school site. Over the next few months the Sierra Sands Unified School District will be receiving the funds for the project.
