Senate Republican Leader Grove Commemorates 75th Anniversary of D-Day

SACRAMENTO – The California State Senate marked this historical day with the passage of Senate Concurrent Resolution 53 introduced by Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield).  SCR 53 recognizes June 6, 2019, as the 75th anniversary of the invasion of Normandy, also known as D-Day.

“We can never forget the brave soldiers who invaded the beaches of Normandy during the early morning hours of June 6, 1944. D-Day was the largest amphibious invasion in history and laid the foundation for the Allied Forces to declare victory against the horrors of the Nazi Regime in World War II. Today is a day for us to commemorate the heroic actions of those soldiers and I am proud that SCR 53 will mark this day in history,” said Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove.
