Senator Shannon Grove (R-Bakersfield) and Assemblyman David Tangipa (R-Clovis) today recognize January as National Mentoring Month and honor Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central California for its 55-year commitment to empowering Central Valley youth through one-to-one mentoring.
Since 1969, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central California has positively impacted more than 30,000 children and families, building resilience, leadership, and hope. Its innovative High School Bigs Program partners with 21 unified school districts, serving over 4,000 children annually with weekly school-based mentoring that promotes academic success and personal growth.
Senator Grove’s SCR 109 and Assemblyman Tangipa’s ACR 121 proclaim January 2026 as National Mentoring Month in recognition of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central California and the dedicated mentors who are transforming lives and strengthening communities across the region.
